PC Modeling: Take pictures with *hires codes

In this tutorial i will explain how to take hires pictures.

Hires images are the most important images in the modeling industry.

A hires image is a high resolution screen shot taken in imvu. These images are always a 2048x2048 pixels square and will be saved automatically on your desktop after taking one. You can take hires images in all rooms, but the con is that they only work on the imvu client (PC) So mobile users and Mac users can't make them :(

Why are these hires images so important?

* They show your avatar in the best quality, making your images look way more professional.

* These images are far easier and better to use in edits.

* You can take these images in the shop aswel. so you don’t need to buy the outfit (and room) to make good pictures.

There are 2 types of hires images.

There is a hiresnobg and a hiressnap.

*A hiressnap takes a picture of your avatar with the background behind it.

*A hiresnobg takes a picture of your avatar (with accesories and pets) but removes the background. Instead it gets a transparent background.

How to take hires images.

Taking a hires image is very simple. In the chat you will have to type one of these codes:*hiressnap or *hiresnobg depending on which image you want to take. (don’t forget to put the the * symbol at the beginning or imvu wont see its a code)

Any moving anymations on your screen will freeze for a second and the image will appear on your desktop. That’s all!

Hiresnobg Tutorial

Hiresnobg images are focussed on just the model. And because of the amazing transparant background they are perfect for edits.

There are a few steps into making a Hiresnobg image.

I will explain how to make one in the shop because this is where most modeling will take place.

The first thing you want to do is go to the "rooms" tab and search for "shadowless room" Now you can choose any room you like. I suggest choosing a room that has a contrast to the colors of your outfit. (if your outfit is mostly light choose a darker colored room) And don’t choose a room with strong saturated colors because it can hurt your eyes lol.

What does a shadowless room do? Well exactly as its named..It removes shadows xD and makes your avi looks clean and bright. This is required for modeling hiresnobg images. However if your image is gonna be used in a edit there might be some changes depending on what the editor wants from you.

Now you can dress up your avatar the way you want to! Challenges and competitions will give you a theme or assignment you will have to follow.

Once you are done with your looks you should look for a pose.

You can find a bunch of poses under the accessories section (in both women and men’s tab)

Choose a pose pack, pick your pose, aim the camera and *CLICK* !

(okay more like *type type type the code* and then press enter but that would’ve ruined the line xD)

Hiressnap Tutorial.

Hiressnaps are more about the setting and scenery than only focussing on the model. Most of the time in hiressnap images it is best to take any light effects off your avatar. (like body light or that changing color light)

Neck fixes are also not allowed because most of the time they are just body lights which they call "neck fix"

Body lights will mess up the shot because it removes all shadows making it look like a 2D picture, and it’s just.. it messes it up.

The rest is just like a hiresnobg. But instead of choosing a shadowless room you pick any other room you like. Then pick a spot (maybe on a furniture), pose and snap!

Cut-offs and Glitches.

The biggest mistakes a model can make are cutt-offs.Cut-offs are parts of the avatar that got cut-off on accident. Example: part of the arm, feet, head, hair or clothing that sticks out.

Always check all the sides of your screen before taking a picture to make sure you haven’t cutted anything off.

Glitches is a more complicated topic. Some agencies take these very seriously, not 1 tiny glitch is allowed to be seen. For Kyzo™ modeling agency you don’t have to stress out too much about it.

Imvu is a computer program, there will always be glitches and unnatural movements. And that's ok.

But…..

Don’t overdo it!

Light glitches

Light glitches are glitches created by light and shadow falling on your avatar in a unnatural way. This is the best seen on a avatars neck.

These glitches won’t appear in the hiresnobg images because we use a shadowless room to remove all the shadows.

But in hiressnap images it will most likely appear. In this case you can edit your image for glitches. I will explain how to do this in a future tutorial.

Shadow in neck messed up (very common)

Going trough eachother.

Because this is a computer program sometimes there will be weird glitches of arms going trough other body parts, or clothes going trough body parts, or hair going trough clothes and so on.

There are a few ways to fix this:

* Change your pose.

* Change a outfit item.

* Edit out the glitch (only for small ones)

However at Kyzo we don't mind these glitches that much since it's a computer program. Glitches like these are unavoidable. But this doesn't mean we will ignore them either! Try to avoid these glitches as much as possible.

Hair going trough arms.

Unsmooth lines.

Un-smooth lines are created by lower quality products, and make your avatar very un-smooth and give it a poor quality (example image below)

The only way to actually fix this is to find which product causes the problem and change it into something else.

Same avi, just different bikini's

Angles, shots and poses.

The last thing for this thread that i want to discuss are the angles, shots and poses we ask for in our agency.

We will ALWAYS explain exactly what type of image we require from you.

Shots

Full Body / Waist up / Headshot.

Poses

Sitting / Standing / Floor

Angles

If not specified make sure we are able to see most of the face of your avatar.
